[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 오경희기자] 경기도가 21일 ‘DMZ 생태평화워크숍’을 개최했다.
연천에서열린 이번 워크숍은 DMZ OPEN 페스티벌 부대 행사 중 하나로 진행됐으며 디엠지(DMZ) 생태와 한반도 평화를 논의하기 위해 마리아 카스티요 페르난데즈 EU대사, 카토스 지바오 마타이 시에라리온 대사를 포함한 5명의 주한대사들과 대리대사, 외교관 등 12개국 주요 인사들이 참석해 DMZ의 중요성과 DMZ의 생태적 가치와 평화의 소중함에 대해 의견을 나눴다.
‘한반도 생태·평화와 DMZ’를 주제로 열린 세미나에서 대사들은 DMZ가 단순한 군사적 분단의 상징을 넘어 자연 생태계의 보고이자 평화를 실현할 수 있는 중요한 곳이며 이 공간을 보존하고 활용하기 위한 국제적 협력이 필수적이라는 점에 의견을 함께했고 세미나 이후 열쇠전망대, 숭의전 등 연천 DMZ 일대를 살펴보고 호로고루성에서 열린 DMZ OPEN 기회음악회 참가 등의 순서로 진행됐다.
특히, ‘호로고루성에 흐르는 음악’이라는 주제로 멜로우키친의 연주가 이어진 DMZ OPEN 콘서트에는 도민 등 방문객 200여 명이 함께 관람하여 삼국시대 전쟁의 장소에서 평화를 느끼는 기회가 되었다.
오후석 경기도 행정2부지사는 “워크숍을 계기로 DMZ의 평화와 생태 보전을 위한 국제적 협력의 중요성을 인식하고, 한반도의 지속 가능한 미래를 위해 적극적으로 나서야 한다”라며, “DMZ가 한반도와 세계의 평화를 위한 상징적인 공간으로 자리매김하기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
