사람이 미래(未來)로 나아간다, 이것이야말로 아주 중요한 일!

1978년 가을 어느 날, 김해경 목사1951년 생)를 만났다.

나와 김해경 목사는 한 살 차이지만, 그래서인지, 나에게는 ‘목사님’이라는 호칭 보다는 ‘형님’이라는 호칭이 더 자연스럽다. 동(同) 시대를 살았던 사람이다.

이때 형님은 망우리 공동묘지에서 접신을 했다면서 무속 일을 시작했다. 그 때의 신분은 남성 무속인(巫俗人)이었다. 세속 말로는 ‘박수무당’이었다. 서울 강남구 잠실 서민아파트에 방을 얻어 운명 감정업을 하고 있었다. 무속인으로서, 명성이 났다. 영력(靈力)-영험함이 대단한 분이었다. 그래서 번호표를 받으면서, 줄을 서면서도, 운명감정을 받으려는 이들이 몰려 들었다.

당시 나는 주간종교 신문사의 기자였다. 불교, 가톨릭, 기독교, 민족종교 등의 종교를 출입하면서 취재활동을 했었다. 그러하니 무속도 취재의 대상이었다.

1980년 5.18 광주사건 이후, 전두환 정권이 들어섰을 때, 형님은 “허공에 떠 있던 귀신들이 머리 근처로 내려왔다”고 말했다. 귀신이 눈에 보이는 가시권에 들어왔다는 것이다.

이 때문인지 운명을 보려는 이들이 줄을 섰다. 형님은 이에 만족하지 않고 단군교를 설립했다. 이 무렵 한보그룹 정태수 회장의 운명자문관이 됐다. 정태수 회장을 잘 자문 했는지, 한보 그룹도 승승장구했다. 그 때는 그랬다.

형님은 이에 만족하지 않았다. 무속인이란, 사람을 속이는 직업이라면서 신학대학에 진학, 목사가 됐다. 유명 교회의 협동 목사가 됐다. “나는 사탄의 왕관을 벗었나이다“라는 책을 써서 베스트셀러 작가로 등극했다.

정치적으로, 정치인 이명박을 지지, 대통령 당선 과정에서 지대한 공을 세웠다. 투옥 당하면서 지지했던 이명박 대통령 후보가 대통령이 됐다.

이런 와중에, 나는 형님의 은혜를 입었다. 형님이 무속인으로 잘 나가고 있을 때였다. 1996년, 나는 자살충동에 휩싸여 있었다. 주간신문인 일요서울 편집국장 시절, 병에 시달리던 큰 아들이 사망하고, 빚더미 속에 서 있었다. 이때 형님이 찾아왔다.

“문일석 편집국장, 앞으로 신문사 사장을 할 팔자이니, 지금 당장에 신문사를 차리시오!”

“내가 요~”

형님은 돈 1,000만원을 빌려왔다. 그리고, 내 앞에 내밀었다. 1,000만 원 짜리 수표였다. 그 뒤, 이 빚은 다 갚았다.

나는 김해경 목사-형님의 미래인지 능력을 믿었다. 1997년 4월에 주간신문사(펜 그리고 자유)를 창업했다. 형님이 어디선가 빌려온 그 돈이 신문사 창업자금이 됐다.

나는 지난 27년간 신문사를 운영해왔다. 주간신문을 발행해왔다. 일간신문-전국지(일간 펜 그리고 자유)도 발행했었다. 인터넷 신문도 발행해왔다. 주간신문인 주간현대 27년, 인터넷 신문인 브레이크뉴스 21년 간을, 발행해왔다.

인간은 그 누구든 미래의 운명을 잘 모른다. 어쩌면, 내가 언론 산업에 뛰어든 것은 김해경 목사-형님 덕분이랄 수 있다.

형님은 인생 말년에, 암 투병에 시달렸다. 나는 형님으로부터 입은 은혜를 갚으려, 서울시 마포구 아현동에 있던 나의 집필실을 비워 드렸다. 형님은 이곳에서 5년 간 머물다, 이 세상을 떠나셨다(2024.07.31). 사람과 사람 간의 인연이란, 이렇게 이어졌다.

9월17일, 추석 날 아침. 지난 7월말 별세한 김해경 형님의 생각이 떠올려졌다. 김해경 목사-형님은 지난 5년간 내 방에 걸어두었던 나의 사진을 떼어내지 않았었다. 해석하면, 형님은 내가 잘 되라고 기도해주었다고 생각했다.

김해경 목사-형님은 영력이 높으신-영험(靈驗)한, 이 분야에서는 대단한 분이었다. 이런 대단한 분이 내가 잘 되라고 기도해주었으니, 나는 행운(幸運)의 사람이었다.

형님은 미래(未來)로 내달리는 사람이었다. 사람이 미래로 나아간다, 이것이야말로 아주 중요한 일이다. 목사-형님에게서, 그것을 봤다, 똑똑히 봤다. 추석 명절. 김해경 목사-형님, 형님의 미래인 저 세상에서도, 또 다른 성취 하시기를 빌어요! moonilsuk@naver.com

[Essay-like approach] Pastor Kim Hae-kyung - I hope you achieve something else in the next world!

One day in the fall of 1978, I met Pastor Kim Hae-kyung (born in 1951). Pastor Kim Hae-kyung and I are one year apart in age, but perhaps because of that, the title ‘hyung’ feels more natural to me than ‘pastor.’ He lived in the same era.

At that time, my brother started his shamanistic work, saying he had received a spirit at the Manguri Cemetery. At that time, he was a male shaman. In secular terms, he was called ‘baksu shaman.’ He rented a room in a commoner’s apartment in Jamsil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and was doing fortune-telling. As a shaman, he became famous. Spiritual power-He was a person with great spiritual power. So, while receiving a number and standing in line, people flocked to receive fortune telling.

At that time, I was a reporter for a weekly religious newspaper. I covered religions such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Christianity, and folk religions. So, shamanism was also a subject of reporting.

After the Gwangju Incident of May 18, 1980, when the Chun Doo-hwan regime came to power, my brother said, “The ghosts floating in the air came down near my head.” He meant that the ghosts were within sight.

Perhaps because of this, people lined up to see their fortunes. My brother was not satisfied with this and founded Dangunism. Around this time, he became the fortune telling advisor to Hanbo Group Chairman Jeong Tae-soo. Perhaps because he advised Chairman Jeong well, Hanbo Group also enjoyed great success. That was the case at the time.

My brother was not satisfied with this. He said that being a shaman was a job that deceived people, so he went to a theological seminary and became a pastor. He became an associate pastor at a famous church. He wrote a book called “I Take Off Satan’s Crown” and became a best-selling author.

Politically, he supported Lee Myung-bak and made a great contribution to the presidential election process. The candidate he supported while in prison, Lee Myung-bak, became president.

In the midst of all this, I received grace from my brother. It was when my brother was doing well as a shaman. In 1996, I was overcome with suicidal impulses. When I was the editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper Sunday Seoul, my eldest son, who had been suffering from an illness, died, and I was in debt. At that time, my brother came to see me.

“Editor-in-chief Moon Il-seok, you are destined to become the president of a newspaper company, so start a newspaper company right now!”

“I will~”

My brother borrowed 10 million won. And he held it out in front of me. It was a 10 million won check. After that, I paid off all of the debt.

I believed in Pastor Kim Hae-kyung’s ability to perceive the future. In April 1997, I founded a weekly newspaper (Pen and Freedom). The money my brother borrowed from somewhere became the start-up capital for the newspaper.

I have been running a newspaper for the past 27 years. I have published weekly newspapers. I have published daily newspapers and national newspapers. I have also published online newspapers. I have published weekly newspapers, Weekly Hyundai, for 27 years, and online newspapers, Break News, for 21 years.

No one knows their future destiny well. Perhaps, it was thanks to Pastor Kim Hae-kyung’s brother that I entered the media industry.

My brother suffered from cancer in his later years. To repay the favor I received from my brother, I emptied my writing room in Ahyeon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. My brother stayed here for 5 years and passed away (2024.07.31). This is how relationships between people continued. On the morning of September 17th, Chuseok, I thought of my brother Kim Hae-kyung, who passed away at the end of July. Pastor Kim Hae-kyung had not taken down my photo that had been hanging in my room for the past five years. If I interpret it, I thought he had prayed for me to do well.

Pastor Kim Hae-kyung was a great spiritual being, a great person in this field. I was lucky because such a great person had prayed for me to do well.

My brother was a person who ran toward the future. People moving toward the future is a very important thing. I saw it in my pastor, I saw it clearly. Chuseok holiday. Pastor Kim Hae-kyung, I hope you achieve something else in the other world, your future! moonilsuk@naver.com
