인천세종병원의 술기를 배우고자 해외 의료선진국 의료진이 방문해 로봇수술을 참관하는 등 글로벌 협력의 구심점이 되고 있다.
인천세종병원에 따르면, 최근 일본 나고야 에키사이카이 병원 소속 후미토시 미주타니 씨(전문의·외과)가 내원해 다빈치SP 로봇 탈장 수술을 참관했다.
후미토시 씨는 비만대사, 대장암, 탈장 등 수술을 하고 있지만, 최근 일본 현지에 도입되기 시작한 최신 다빈치SP 이용 수술 경험은 없다.
인천세종병원은 지난해 경인 지역 종합병원 최초로 탈장 수술에 다빈치SP를 도입, 갑상선·편도·담낭·충수돌기·자궁근종·난소종양·자궁 절제술은 물론, 탈장·수면무호흡·위암·대장암 수술, 자궁-질탈출 교정술 등을 활발히 시행하고 있다.
