【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북대학교(총장 고창섭) 해외교육봉사단 NE:ON(네온, 봉사활동으로 네팔을 따뜻하게)이 지난 10월 2일 사범대학 역량강화실에서 해단식을 마치고 활동을 마무리했다.
이 날 해단식에는 봉사단원들과 강상순 사범대학장, 한재영 해외교육봉사단장 등이 참석했으며, 이번 해외교육 봉사활동에 대한 평가, 우수봉사단원 시상, 지도교사 감사장 수여 등의 시간을 가졌다.
NE:ON 해외교육봉사단은 네팔의 수도인 카트만두에서 지난 7월 31일(수)부터 8월 29일(목)까지 30일간 현지 트리부번 대학교와 초·중등 학교 4곳에서 봉사활동을 수행했다. 이번 봉사는 중남미와 인도네시아에 이어 네팔에서 처음으로 실시한 것으로 현지 학생들에게 수학, 과학 등 기초 교육을 비롯하여 K-pop, 노래, 공기놀이, 제기차기 등 한국 문화를 소개하고, 국립과천과학관에서 개발한 싸이팝(Sci-POP) 이동 박스형 과학원리체험콘텐츠의 일부를 활용해 미니 과학관 행사를 열기도 했다. 뿐만 아니라 현지 학생들의 작품 전시회와 사진전도 개최했다.
또한, 네팔 과학교사 모임과 한국의 과학교사 모임(재미있는 과학수업 만들기)이 온라인으로 처음 연결되고, 오프라인에서 봉사단이 미리 준비한 실험 물품으로 실험을 보조하는 하이브리드 형태의 세미나가 최초로 진행됐다. 봉사활동이 마무리되며 한국의 선진적인 수업을 처음 경험한 네팔의 학생과 교사는 이러한 교류 활동이 계속 이어지기를 희망한다고 전했다.
한재영 NE:ON 해외교육봉사단 단장(화학교육과 교수)은 “올해는 네팔에 홍수로 수질이 오염되며 설사병이 유행하여 활동이 굉장히 힘들었다. 그럼에도 모든 단원이 똘똘 뭉쳐 학교 수업, 미니 과학관, 하이브리드 세미나, 대학 교류, 사진전, 전시회 등 다양한 활동을 계획대로 모두 수행한 점이 자랑스럽다”고 전했다.
한편, 충북대는 국립국제교육원에서 선정한 단기해외교육봉사 운영 대학으로 8회 연속 선정된 국내 유일의 대학이다.
