독도는 깊이가 있다

아무리 들여다봐도

보이지 않는 수천 길의 수심

너무나 푸르고 깊다

그 깊이, 가슴에 안고

동쪽 바다에 섬으로 떠 있다

어쩌다, 외로울까 봐

동과 서, 서로 마주보고 있다

태풍이 불어와도 꺼지지 않는

촛대바위 앞세우고

태평양 넘는 꿈꾸고 있는 섬

독도는 말이 없다

그 누가 다케시마라 부르며

자기네 땅이라고 우겨도

콧방귀 픽픽 날리며,

재갈매기들과 어울려 끼룩대고 있다

오백만 년 터 잡고 사는

등이 휜 독도 꽃새우가

너희들이 뭘 아느냐며 헛웃음이다

감히, 깊이를 알고 있냐고

그들에게 묻는다.
