4일 시엠립주정부청사에서 열린 업무협약식에는 서원대학교 김영미 교학부총장, 정재은 기획평가처장, 장영은 사회봉사센터장과 시엠립주 만니 랑세이 부지사, 리몬나 교육청청소년체육국장 등이 참석했다.
협약 체결에 따라 서원대와 시엠립주는 양 기관의 교육과정 교류 및 교육분야에서 협력하며, 특별히 시엠립주의 학생들이 서원대학교에서 유학할 수 있도록 협력한다.
김영미 교학부총장은 “서원대학교는 2005년부터 매년 방학 중 학생봉사단을 파견해 교육봉사, 노력봉사를 진행하며 캄보디아 청소년 및 주민들과 소통하고 있다”라며 “이번 협약으로 시엠립주정부와의 유기적인 협력체계를 구축해 양국의 교육 교류와 복지 증진에 이바지하고자 한다”라고 말했다.
