창원한마음병원 비뇨의학과 성경탁 교수, '제21차 아시아비뇨의학회서 특별공로상' 수상

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원한마음병원 소속 비뇨의학과 성경탁 교수가 지난 5일부터 8일까지 인도네시아 발리에서 개최된 '제21차 아시아비뇨의학회(UAA, Urological Association of Asia)‘에 참석해 특별공로상(Outstanding and Dedication Award)을 받았다고 21일 밝혔다.

이번 제21차 아시아비뇨의학회에는 전 세계 3,300여 명의 회원이 참석하여 1,300편의 초록을 발표하는 등 다양한 주제로 개최되었으며, 특히 개회식에서는 인도네시아 최초 전립선암 로봇 원격 수술이 성공적으로 진행되어 눈길을 끌었다.

성 교수는 이번 학회에서 국제조직위원장(Chairman of Internal Faculty Committee) 및 로봇수술 메인 세션(main plenary session)의 기획 및 좌장으로 참석했으며, 로봇수술 메인 세션에서는 ’아시아 및 전 세계의 수술 로봇 공학(Surgical Robotics in Asia and Beyond)’이라는 주제로 기조 강연했다.
