4대 개혁 과제에 대해선 "개혁과제들을 하다 마는 시늉만 해선 안 된다"며 "정말로 끝까지 가진 못하더라도 성과를 내야하고 그렇게 하지 않을 수 없는 상황"이라고 말했다.
체코 원전 수주에 대해선 "1기에 12조라 하면 우리가 굉장히 경제성을 인정받은 수출인데 이게 왜 '덤핑·저가'란 말이 나오는지 도무지 이해할 수 없다"며 "그런 부분을 국민에게 잘 설명했음 좋겠다"고 당부했다.
전날 제76주년 국군의 날 행사 관련해선 "K·방산의 아주 중요 홍보수단이기도 하고 (연간 60조 국방비 지출에) 국민들에게 국방 예산이 어떻게 쓰이는지 잘 보여줄 수 있는 행사장이었다 생각한다"고 했다.
