(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 지난 1일부터 오는 6일까지 5박 6일간 송도 포스코 인재창조원에서‘2024 제22기 차세대 글로벌 창업무역스쿨 모국방문교육’이 개최됐다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이번 교육은 글로벌 경제리더를 육성하고 한민족 정체성 함양을 목표로 각국의 차세대 재외동포(1.5~4세대)를 국내에 초청하는 행사로, 세계한인무역협회(이하 월드옥타)가 2003년부터 매해 추진해 오고 있는 사업이다.
인천시는 상대적으로 모국과 접점이 부족한 차세대 재외동포를 대상으로 인천을 알리는 한편, 앞으로 글로벌 인적 자산인 차세대 재외동포와의 네트워크를 구축하고자 월드옥타와 공동으로 주최하게 됐다.
이번 교육에는 해외 26개국 89명의 재외동포 청년과 국내 28명의 대학(원)생 등 총 117명의 국내·외 차세대 경제인이 인천에 모였다.
참가자들은 명사초청 강의를 비롯해 팀별 토의 및 발표, 국내 스타트업 기업과의 네트워킹 행사, 인천 역사·문화 체험 등 다양한 프로그램을 소화할 예정이다.
아울러, 교육 5일 차인 7월 5일에는 연수구 송도에서 인천경제자유구역(IFEZ) 홍보관, 스마트시티운영센터, 국립세계문자박물관을 견학하고 중구에서 역사·문화 해설사와 함께 개항장 일대를 둘러보며, 인천의 역사·문화를 체험하고 인천의 발전상을 돌아보는 시간을 가질 예정이다.
교육 첫날 환영 만찬에 참석한 유정복 시장은 “대한민국 제2의 경제도시이자 글로벌 톱텐 시티로 도약하는 인천에 오신 여러분들을 환영한다”며 “국내·외 차세대 경제인 간의 심도있는 토론과 활발한 교류를 통해 많은 성과를 얻어가시길 바란다”며 참가자들을 맞았다.
