필리핀을 국빈 방문한 윤석열 대통령이 7일(현지시간) "필리핀에서도 팀 코리아가 최고 원전 파트너가 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
이날 오후 필리핀 수도 마닐라 한 호텔에서 한국경제인협회·필리핀상공회의소 공동 주최로 열린 한·필 비즈니스 포럼 기조연설에서 한국수력원자력·필리핀 에너지부 간 필리핀 바탄 원전 공사 재개 타당성 조사 MOU 체결을 언급하며 이같이 말했다.
이 행사는 양국 기업 간 네트워크 구축·협력 방안 모색차 열려 한·필 기업인들이 한자리에 모인 가운데 윤 대통령과 페르디난드 마르코스 주니어 대통령도 함께 행사장을 찾아 양국 기업인들을 격려했다.
윤 대통령은 "오늘 정상회담에서 양국 관계를 '전략적 동반자 관계'로 격상키로 합의했다"며 "이를 계기로 필리핀과의 전략적 경제협력을 더욱 강화해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 필리핀 인프라 사업 관련해선 "양국 간 인프라 협력도 앞으로 발전 가능성이 기대되는 분야"라며 "필리핀 도로·교량 등 인프라 확충에 우수 한국 기업들이 더 많이 기여할 수 있길 바란다"고 독려했다.
또 "최근 지정학적 리스크가 확대되고 이상 기후가 잦아지면서 식량 안보에 관한 각국 고민이 커지고 있다"며 "농약·비료·농기계 등 농업 생산성 제고를 위한 분야에서 양국 협력을 확대해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
마르코스 대통령은 축사에서 "필리핀 사람들은 적어도 한 번은 친구나 가족들과 한국 음식 김치·삼겹살을 먹으며 웃음꽃을 피운 적이 있을 것"이라며 "너무나 좋아하는 한국 드라마를 몰아 보거나 아이돌들 K팝을 들으며 수많은 시간을 보냈을 것"이라고 말했다.
