[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안산 이현준기자] 안산시는 미래산업 발전을 위한 논의의장을 가졌다.
지난 4일 독일 명문 아헨공과대학(RWTH) 소속 토마스 그리스(Thomas Gries) 교수가 시를 방문했다.
이번 방문은 앞서 지난 4월 안산시 경제사절단의 독일 방문 당시 아헨공과대학교에서 체결한 ‘미래 산업 육성 및 상호 협력을 위한 업무협약’의 후속 논의 차원에서 이뤄졌다.
안산시는 토마스 그리스 교수 등의 아헨공과대학교 방문단을 영접하고 로봇산업과스마트시티 및 첨단기술 분야에서의 발전 가능성을 함께 논의했다.
아헨공과대학은 독일을 대표하는 유럽 최고의 공과 기술대학으로 세계적인 연구와혁신적인 기술 개발로 저명하다. 약 4만 5,000여 명의 학생이 재학 중이며 실용적인 연구를 통해 독일과 유럽의 기술 산업을 선도하고 있다.
토마스 그리스 교수는 “한국의 로봇, 의료 기술은 매우 우수한 것으로 알고 있다”라면서 “시와 함께 로봇 등 첨단산업 분야에 대한 협력을 이어가 관내 기업이나 연구기관과 함께 기술 연구를 진행할 수 있기를 바란다”라고 말했다.
이민근 안산시장은 “먼 길을 방문해 준 토마스 그리스 교수님께 깊은 감사를 드린다”라며 “앞으로도 시와 아헨공대 간의 교류와 협력을 강화해 아헨공과대학의 혁신적인 기술 교류를 이어가겠다”라고 화답했다.
