[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시가 10월 10일에서 12일까지 자매결연 도시인 중국 덕주시 청소년들을 초청해 ‘한ㆍ중ㆍ일 청소년 홈스테이’ 프로그램의 1차 중국 편을 진행하고 있다.
‘한ㆍ중ㆍ일 청소년 홈스테이’는 시흥시의 대표적인 청소년 국제교류 행사로, 시흥시 청소년과 시민이 외국인 친구들을 자신의 가정으로 초대해 함께 생활하고, 해외에서 직접 교류하는 방식으로 문화와 언어를 자연스럽게 배우며 글로벌 마인드를 키우는 기회를 제공한다.
1차 홈스테이에는 중국 덕주시 청소년 10명이 참여해 시흥시 홈스테이 회원 9개 가정에서 2박 3일간 한국 문화를 체험하게 된다.
10일 거북섬 웨이브엠 웨스트 호텔에서 열린 환영식에서 처음 만난 시흥시 가정과 중국 청소년들은 어색함을 금세 극복하고 대화를 통해 친밀감을 쌓았다. 특히 시흥 가정의 청소년들과 중국 청소년들은 서로의 나라에 대해 궁금했던 점을 질문하고 답하며 즐거운 분위기를 만들었다.
환영식 이후 참가자들은 각자 매칭된 가정에 방문하고, 함께 시흥의 명소를 자유롭게 탐방하며 시흥의 매력에 빠져들고 한국 문화를 깊이 경험했다.
홈스테이 프로그램에 참여한 한 가정의 부모는 “시흥시를 대표해 중국 친구들을 만나고 교류할 수 있는 특별한 경험을 하게 돼 매우 뿌듯하다. 다음에도 기회가 된다면, 다시 한번 더 참여하고 싶다”라고 말했다.
