민주당, 곡성군수 재선거 후보에 조상래 전 전남도의원

(곡성=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=내달 16일 치러지는 전남 곡성군수 재선거에 출마할 더불어민주당 후보로 조상래(사진·66) 전 전남도의원이 7일 선출됐다.

민주당 중앙당 선거관리위원회(이하 선관위)는 이날 이 같은 내용의 곡성군수 후보 선출을 위한 경선 결과를 발표했다.

선관위는 강대광 전 곡성군의원, 유근기 전 곡성군수, 조 전 도의원 등 3명의 후보에 대한 경선을 진행한 결과, 조 후보가 1위를 차지했다고 공고했다.

민주당은 100% 국민참여 방식으로 진행한 이번 경선에서 과반 득표자가 없으면 결선투표를 진행하기로 했지만, 조 후보가 과반 득표를 해 결선 없이 당 후보를 확정했다.

민주당은 경선을 앞두고 무소속 후보였던 조 후보를 복당시켰다.

조상래 후보는 광주 숭일고와 성균관대 사회학과를 나와 ROTC 19기 소위로 임관 중위로 전역 한뒤 전남지구JC 지구회장, 한국JC 부회장, 제8·10대 전남도의회 의원, 제6대 곡성군의회 의원 등을 역임했다.
