청주대, 추석 맞이 외국인 유학생 송편나눔 행사 진행

청주대는 14일 추석 명절을 앞두고 이국땅에서 힘들게 공부하고 있는 외국인 유학생들의 외로움을 달래기 위해 기숙사 1층 식당에서 송편, 식혜, 과일 등을 마련, ‘한가위 송편 나눔 행사’를 진행했다.

이날 행사에는 중국, 몽골, 베트남, 미얀마 등의 유학생 1,000여 명이 참석해 송편, 식혜, 과일 등을 맛보며 한국 명절에 대한 덕담을 나누며 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.

중국 유학생인 하오옌(24)씨는 “중국에도 추석 명절과 비슷한 중추절이 있어 이맘때면 고향과 가족들 생각이 더욱 간절하다”며 “이번 송편 나눔 행사를 통해 한국 명절과 문화를 이해하고 한국인 친구들과 따뜻한 정을 느낄 수 있어 좋았다”고 말했다.

청주대 김윤배 총장은 “우리 민족의 고유 명절인 추석을 맞아 외국인 유학생들의 한국 전통 문화에 대한 이해를 높이고 고국에 대한 그리움을 달래주기 위해 이번 행사를 준비했다”며 “유학생들이 잠시나마 그리움을 잊고 학업에 전념하길 바란다“고 밝혔다.

한편 청주대에는 32개국에서 3,000여 명의 외국인 유학생이 재학중이다.
