【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=서원대학교(총장 손석민)는 체육교육과 이의재 교수가 스포츠안전재단과 (사)한국체육학회가 주최한 ‘2024년 스포츠안전 논문 공모전’에서 우수상인 한국체육학회장상을 수상했다고 25일 밝혔다.
이의재 교수는 한국교육과정평가원 교과서연구·검정센터 조기희 부연구위원, 한경국립대 웰니스스포츠과학전공 이승만 교수와 함께 ‘언론에 나타난 스포츠 안전 이슈 변화에 대한 키워드 네트워크 분석’을 주제로 논문을 제출해 한국체육학회장상을 수상했다.
본 연구는 2005년 4월부터 2024년 3월까지 스포츠 안전 이슈를 다룬 3,201건의 뉴스 기사와 12,805개의 키워드 바탕으로 스포츠 안전에 대한 관심도를 심층 분석해 스포츠 안전 인식이 어떻게 변화되고 있는가를 분석했다.
연구 결과 2014년 4월을 기준으로 이전에는 계절스포츠와 레저스포츠 중 안전사고에 대한 사후 조치에 초점이 맞춰져 있었으며, 이후에는 스포츠안전재단과 대한체육회를 중심으로 각종 시설을 점검하고, 안전교육을 강화하는 등 안전사고에 대한 예방적 차원이 강조되었음을 확인했다. 이에 따라 안전의 중요성에 대한 사회적 인식이 강화되면서 스포츠계에서도 안전을 최우선시해야 할 가치로 인식해야 함을 논했다.
이의재 교수는 “연구 성과를 인정받아 기쁘다”라며 “한국 스포츠 안전 발전에 이바지할 수 있도록 앞으로도 연구에 더욱 매진하겠다”라고 말했다.
이번 연구 결과는 오는 10월 11일에 개최되는 ‘2024 제105회 전국체전기념 제62회 한국체육학회 학술대회’에서 구두 발표할 예정이다.

Seowon University (President Son Seok-min) announced on the 25th that Professor Lee Eui-jae of the Physical Education Department won the Korean Society of Physical Education President Award, an excellence award, at the ‘2024 Sports Safety Paper Contest’ hosted by the Sports Safety Foundation and the Korean Society of Physical Education.
Professor Lee Eui-jae, along with Jo Gi-hee, Associate Research Fellow at the Textbook Research and Testing Center of the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation, and Professor Lee Seung-man of the Department of Wellness and Sports Science at Hankyung National University, submitted a paper on the topic of ‘Keyword Network Analysis on Changes in Sports Safety Issues Appearing in the Media’ and received the Korean Society of Physical Education President Award.
This study analyzed how awareness of sports safety is changing by deeply analyzing the level of interest in sports safety based on 3,201 news articles and 12,805 keywords that dealt with sports safety issues from April 2005 to March 2024.
The research results confirmed that as of April 2014, the focus was on post-accident measures for safety accidents in seasonal sports and leisure sports, and that afterward, the Sports Safety Foundation and the Korea Sports Council emphasized preventive measures for safety accidents, such as inspecting various facilities and strengthening safety education. Accordingly, as social awareness of the importance of safety has strengthened, it was discussed that the sports world should also recognize safety as a value that should be prioritized.
