우리나라는 글로벌 선진국...“미래 필요한 영감(靈感)이 있어야할 때”

필자는 어려서부터 미묘한 영감(靈感)이 함께 했었다. 쉬운 표현으로, 영감이 발달했었다.

그러나, 내가 너무 원하니, 담임선생님이 광주에 있는 중학교의 응시 원서를 써주었다. 입학시험에 응시했던 중학교는 광주 숭일 중학교였다. 이 학교에 응시, 합격했다. 장학금도 준다는 조건이었다.

그런데, 아버지는 나를 회초리로 다스렸다. 가난해서 안 된다는데, 중학교 응시를 해서 합격했다는 이유에서 였다.

이때, 나에게 영감(靈感)이 찾아왔다. 당시 담양 중학교는 전기(前期)였고, 담양에 중학교가 하나뿐이어서, 담양 중학교를 입학하지 않으면, 내 인생의 미래가 없을 것이란 생각이 들었다.

그래서 서둘러 담양중학교 정문으로 가봤다. 그런데 정문에 보궐학생 몇 명을 뽑는다는 안내문이 부착돼 있었다. 나는 이에 응시, 담양중학교에 입학할 수 있었다.

이때 나를 담양 중학교 정문으로 이끈 것은 나의 영감이었다. 부모, 또는 담임선생님, 그 누구도 아니었다. 나의 영감이 나를 이끌었다.

우리나라는 글로벌 선진국 반열에 들어서는 초입기(初入期)이다. 이러한 시기, 국가적으로 미래에 필요한 좋은 영감이 있어야할 때이다. 분단을 극복할 수 있는 영감, 국민 모두가 함께 잘 살 수 있는 경제력 확보를 위한 영감이 필요하다. 대한민국 미래 시대정신은 문화-예술 선진국가 만들기라고 생각한다. 뛰어난 영감으로 살아가는 다수의 문화-예술인들이 새로운 문화-예술을 창제, 문화국가로 나아갔으면 한다.

경험에 의하면, 영감이란 눈에는 안 보이는 미세한 것, 또는 눈에 안 보이는 무형이다. 눈에 안 보이는 사소한 그것들이 나의 진정한 주인이었다. 나는 요즈음 질적으로 다른 영감을 만나고 있다. 나의 영감이 과연 나를 어디로 끌고 갈 것인지? 꿈에 부풀어 산다.
