【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=포스코DX(사장 정덕균)는 ESG 경영전략과 그간 성과를 알리고자 ‘2023 지속가능경영보고서’를 발간했다고 2일 밝혔다.
이번 보고서를 통해 포스코DX는 이중 중대성 평가에 따른 △안전보건관리 강화 △공급망 지속가능성 강화 △인권경영 및 다양성 확대 △정보보안 관리 강화 △기후변화 대응을 5대 핵심이슈로 선정하고, 각 이슈별 활동 성과와 향후 관리방안을 보고서를 통해 공개했다. 이중 중대성 평가란 기업이 환경과 사회에 미치는 영향, 외부 이슈가 기업의 재무적 가치에 미치는 영향, 두 가지 요소를 모두 고려해 지속가능성 이슈를 도출하는 과정을 말한다.
포스코DX는 지배구조(G) 측면에서는 지난해 연말 이사회 산하 ESG위원회를 신설하고, 관련 정책과 이슈 관리 등 ESG 경영의 전반적인 관리 감독 기능을 강화했다. 올해 열린 ESG위원회에서는 2040 탄소중립 로드맵, 전사 리스크 통합 관리체계 구축 결과 등의 ESG 성과와 2024년 중점 추진계획 안건을 심도 있게 다루었다.
환경(E) 측면에서는 2030년 온실가스 42% 감축, 2040년 탄소중립 달성을 목표로 하는 ‘2040 탄소중립 로드맵’을 공개했다. 또, 환경보호 및 기후위기 극복에 기여하기 위해 환경정책을 제정했다
사회적 책임(S) 측면에서는 포스코DX 임직원과 협력사 및 고객에게 적용되는 인권존중 책임 이행에 대한 인권정책을 선언하고, 구체적인 실행방안을 수립해 보고서에 공개했다. 이와 함께 안전한 일터 구현을 경영의 핵심가치로 두고 중대재해 예방을 위한 안전보건관리 강화 정책과 활동을 반영했다.
포스코DX는 보고서의 글로벌 작성 가이드라인인 GRI(Global Reporting Initiative) Standards 2021에 따라 보고서를 작성했으며, 산업의 특성에 적합한 주요 이슈 선정을 위하여 SASB(Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, 지속가능성 회계표준위원회), 산업 표준과 TCFD(Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, 기후관련 재무정보공개 태스크포스) 권고 내용을 반영하고, 다가올 ESG공시 법제화에 선제적으로 대응하고자 했다.
포스코DX 기업시민사무국 관계자는 “포스코DX는 기업이 직면한 자동화, 무인화, 지능화, 로봇화, 가상화, 탄소중립 이슈에 DX 핵심역량을 내재화하여 혁신적인 방안을 제시하고 있다”며 “고객 가치와 환경 및 사회적 가치를 창출하는 ESG 선도기업이 되겠다”는 의지를 밝혔다.

POSCO DX publishes 2023 Sustainability Report... Selects 5 core ESG issues

In terms of governance (G), POSCO DX established an ESG Committee under the Board of Directors at the end of last year and strengthened the overall management and supervision of ESG management, including management of related policies and issues. At the ESG Committee held this year, ESG achievements such as the 2040 carbon neutrality roadmap and the results of establishing an integrated company-wide risk management system were discussed in depth, as well as key implementation plans for 2024.
In terms of environment (E), the ‘2040 Carbon Neutral Roadmap’ was unveiled, aiming to reduce greenhouse gases by 42% in 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality in 2040. In addition, environmental policies have been enacted to contribute to environmental protection and overcoming the climate crisis.
In terms of social responsibility (S), POSCO DX declared a human rights policy to fulfill responsibility for respecting human rights applicable to executives and employees, partners, and customers, established a specific implementation plan, and disclosed it in the report. POSCO DX wrote the report in accordance with GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards 2021, the global reporting guidelines, and consulted with SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) and industry to select key issues appropriate for the characteristics of the industry. We aimed to reflect the standards and recommendations of the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and proactively respond to the upcoming ESG disclosure legislation.
