윤석열 대통령-웡 총리 "내년 한·싱가포르 전략적 동반자 관계 수립"

싱가포르를 국빈 방문한 윤석열 대통령이 8일(현지시간) 로런스 웡 총리와 정상회담을 갖고 "한·싱가포르 수교 50주년을 맞아 내년에 '전략적 동반자 관계'를 수립하고 전략적 공조를 강화키로 합의했다"고 밝혔다.

윤 대통령은 이날 윙 총리와 정상회담 후 공동 언론 발표에서 이같이 말한 후 "양 정상은 새로운 50년을 준비하기 위해 교역·투자를 넘어 AI·디지털·첨단 기술 분야로 협력 수준을 확장키로 했다"고 전했다.

그러면서 "양국은 이를 위해 주요 분야에서 전략적 공조를 더욱 강화한다"며 "특히 미래 발전 원동력이 될 AI(인공지능) 포함 첨단 기술·스타트업 분야 협력을 심화시켜 나갈 것"이라고 했다. 이를 위해 '기술협력 MOU(양해각서)' '스타트업 협력 MOU' 등 총 6건 MOU가 정상 임석 하에 이날 체결됐다.

또 "양국 간 공급망 파트너십 약정을 기초로 바이오·에너지·첨단산업 분야 공급망 협력을 강화하고, 공급망 교란에도 함께 대응해 나가기로 했다"며 "세계 3위 LNG 수입국 한국과 글로벌 LNG 교역 허브 싱가포르 간 체결한 'LNG 수급 협력 MOU'는 에너지의 안정적 국제 공급망 구축에 기여할 것"이라고 전망했다

윤 대통령은 “양국은 북한의 불법적 핵 개발·무모한 도발을 국제사회가 결코 용인하지 않을 것이란 점에 의견을 같이 했다"며 "이번 아세안(ASEAN·동남아시아국가연합) 정상회의 계기에 국제사회의 분명하고 단합된 대북 메시지가 발신될 수 있도록 긴밀히 공조해 나가기로 했다"고 전했다.
